    IN-HOME THERAPY SITE DIRECTOR

    ABOUT US

    Gándara Center’s mission is to promote the well-being of Hispanics, African Americans, and other culturally diverse populations through innovative culturally competent behavioral health, prevention, and education services. Established in 1977 The Gándara Center provides outpatient mental health and substance use services to the growing and largely unserved Hispanic community in Western Massachusetts. Gándara Center serves more than 10,000 people from all backgrounds per year at 45 locations across the state of Massachusetts.

    The IN-HOME THERAPY SITE DIRECTOR will lead the In-Home Therapy team supporting the mission of the Gándara Mental Health Center. In-Home Therapy (IHT) services are designed to increase the family’s ability to support the healthy functioning of youth within the family, home, and community. The IHT team is made up of practitioner(s), family, and youth. Together they develop a treatment plan to address issues specific to the youth and family. The role of the Director includes demonstrating sound judgment and effective, solution-focused, problem-solving skills, the ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with clients, staff, co-workers, and supervisors, and will have the ability to establish a rapport with culturally and economically diverse populations while meeting program needs in a fast-paced environment.

    Required Skills

    DUTIES, SUPERVISION AND CONSULTATION:

     

    • Provide managerial leadership to the IHT/FSS program to ensure that IHT/FSS supervisors and staff provide the best quality of care, develop professionally, comply with productivity, billing and documentation standards, conform to the IHT/FSS Programs specifications, adhere to Gandara General and Program-Specific Policies and Procedures, and commit to Gándara’s mission and tenets.
    • Provide clinical and administrative supervision/consultation to IHT/FSS Supervisors assuring implementation and documentation of all service components, including periodic status reports.
    • Ensure that IHT/FSS Supervisors work closely with their staff in reviewing and signing clinical paperwork on a timely basis (Child/Adolescent Comprehensive Assessment, Individualized Action Plan, Risk Assessment, Individualized Action Plan Review/Revision and Discharge Summary/Transition Plan).
    • Assure program compliance with Managed Care Entities and Commercial Insurance Companies guidelines including staffing patterns, service capacity, utilization and accessibility.

    MEETINGS AND TRAINING

    • Attend all staff meetings.
    • Facilitate weekly IHT/FSS supervisors meetings.
    • Lead trainings and/or help plan them.

    REVIEWS, REPORTS AND AUDITS

    • Ensure that all COA/MCEs/Gandara trainings are completed each calendar year.
    • Support IHT/FSS Supervisors to ensure that Chart Reviews are completed on a timely fashion following COA, MCEs, Commercial Insurances or other regulatory agencies specifications

    MARKETING

    • Complete a monthly report on marketing activities
    • Market services to state agencies and other organizations that are potential referral sources.

    HIRING, PROMOTING AND TERMINATING STAFF

    • Participate in the recruitment of new employees and recommend staff for employment, promotion and termination.
    • Review and approve the Performance Evaluations and Tier Supporting Documentation for all staff.
    • Ensure that IHT/FSS Supervisors monitor staff’s placement in the Tier system. Support supervisors to avoid staff being placed in BAS (Below Accepted Standard) as well as to reach a higher Tier and/or remain at the highest Tier.

    BILLING AND PRODUCTIVITY

    • Oversee the process of checking eligibility, securing authorizations or reauthorizations, and requesting units on a timely fashion as to avoid Write-Offs and financial losses.
    • Ensure that IHT/FSS Supervisors complete the productivity report on a timely basis so it can be shared in the weekly general Billing Meeting.

    TIMESHEETS AND REQUESTS

    • Make sure that IHT/FSS Supervisors review and approve timesheets, vacation requests, training requests.
    • Approve and sign any check requests for payment before submitting them to the Regional Director. for final approval and consult with Regional Director to ensure viability of expenses.

     

    Required Experience

     REQUIREMENTS:

    • Requires a Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, psychiatric nursing or related field,
    • Active license (or be license eligible) in the State of Massachusetts, LICSW, LMHC, etc.
    • Min of 5 years of experience working with children and families or may be working toward license with appropriate years of experience. Able to provide in-home support.
    • Available for on-call shifts 24 hours a day 7 days per week for home-based team by cell phone.
    • Computer literacy and skill in use of computers and related software applications.
    • Ability to consistently meet all background and credentialing requirements.
    • Must have reliable telephone notification system for emergency contact.
