    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

     

    This position provides management and oversight of all aspects of the Sales Adjustments process for Dole Fresh Vegetables. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure maximization of DFV revenue and cash collections, through the minimization of Sales Adjustments and Deductions, while maintaining maximum customer satisfaction (internal and external customers)      

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

     

     

    • Manage, update and ensure compliance with the standard operating procedures and rules of engagement for the processing of Dole Fresh Vegetables Sales Adjustments.
    • Ensuring efficient and effective processing of credits and rebills for legitimate product rejections, diversions, rework, and/or incorrect pricing, and ensuring rejection of proposed sales adjustments not in compliance with policy or procedures.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to identify root causes of sales adjustments, and to develop and implement means of reducing the need for after invoice sales adjustments.
    • Oversee and manage the Sales Adjustment Coordinators and Analyst to ensure the gathering and retention of appropriate DFV, Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA), Legal, etc., documentation to support the approval / rejection of proposed sales adjustments.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to Finance and Sales management of proposed, approved and rejected sales adjustments, including analytics by sales adjustments reason codes, by function and by salesperson.
    • Assist in providing Sales Adjustments related audit requests.
    • Responsible for training and continued development of staff.
    • Effectively perform special projects as required.
    • Performs other assignments or related duties as directed.

     

    Required Skills

    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

     

    • Minimum (5) years’ experience in the same or similar position responsible for Credit and Collections and/or Sales Allowances/Adjustments (credit memos / debit memos, preferably in the agriculture industry.
    • Possess general accounting knowledge sufficient to understand financial impacts of transactional processing for Credit and Collections and Sales Adjustments/Deductions/Allowances.
    • Advanced Excel, Word and Power Point skills for timely and accurate management reporting in a clear, concise manner.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Exhibits the skills to act as a Dole Fresh Vegetables change agent – identify the need for and implement cross -functional changes throughout the organization in order to provide continuous improvement to Dole Fresh Vegetables operational and financial performance.
    • Knowledge and mastery of systems used by Dole for the Rejection/Credit/Rebill/Financial process
    • Demonstrate ability to work in a team –oriented, fast paced environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and develop team members.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) and/or up to 25 lbs.

     

    WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Ability to work beyond normally scheduled hours during financial period close weeks, fiscal year end and during annual budget preparation.
    • Overtime as Required; On-Call as Required.

    Required Experience

     

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

     

    • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance, or related field is preferred or equivalent work experience.
    • Account Receivable and/or Credit Management certifications preferred

     

    PAY RATE:

    • $75,000 - $81,000 Annually
