    We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic researcher to join our Research and Development Team working on a novel diagnostics platform. This is an entry-level position that would be best filled by a candidate with an interest in the R&D side of product development and a desire to learn about molecular diagnostics from a team of highly qualified assay developers. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Molecular Sciences.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Take part in collaborative studies required for all phases of product development.
    • Document procedures and experiments in a laboratory notebook.
    • Work with a diverse group of assay development scientists and associates in a collaborative and high paced environment.
    • Understand and consistently follow documented procedures (SOPs, Work Instructions, etc).
    • Maintain compliance with the quality system.

     

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • B.S. in a Life Sciences discipline.
    • 0-2 years of relevant industry experience with a preference for molecular diagnostics assay development.
    • Experience or working knowledge with one or more of the following: PCR, sequencing, DNA extraction, primer and probe design, assay optimization.
    • Demonstrated problem solving and scientific writing skills.
    • Experience with statistical tools (Minitab, R, Python, etc) a plus.
    • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
    • Strong work ethic and ability to generate high quality work under tight deadlines.
