    TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) invites applications for a Program Coordinator II **** to join their team.


    This position works closely with TRIO Director and responsibilities include:

    • Oversees student clerical employees.
    • Manages the TRIO SSS student information system and reports.
    • Manages the budget monitoring system, time records and payroll rosters for TRIO SSS programs.
    • Manages TRIO Book Loan program by maintaining accurate inventory and acceptable allocation of donor funds to eligible students.
    • Serves as office manager and performs reception/clerical tasks.
    • Develops marketing and communication pieces to increase awareness and services offered.
    • Assists with planning and implementing activities and workshops for students.
    • Exercises spending authority on limited budget items including purchasing office supplies, tracking, and reconciling budget, including department Procard using GrizMart, Banner, and UMDW.

    Required Skills

    • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
    • Knowledge of basic budget monitoring and tracking processes and procedures.
    • Ability to create & analyze accurate reports in a variety of formats.
    • Knowledge of or the ability to learn The University of Montana personnel, travel and financial policies and procedures.
    • Ability to provide positive professional customer service on the phone and in person and remain professional at all times.
    • Effective interpersonal, public relations, and communication skills.
    • Ability to create, proofread, and lay out marketing and communication pieces for the intended audience.
    • Knowledge of or the ability to learn web design and maintenance software.
    • Proven organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills and ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment with attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated skill in the operation of personal computers and related word processing, spreadsheet and database software (MS Excel, Word, Access, Outlook) with the ability to learn other software programs.
    • Ability to maintain accurate records and files.
    • Ability to problem solve, make sound decisions and act with initiative.
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

    Minimum Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and two (2) years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Work experience in TRIO programs and higher education.

    The mission of TRiO Student Support Services (TRiO SSS) is to provide academic support services to at least 375 students a year who are low-income, first-generation, and/or have a disability. The purpose of those services is to achieve the highest possible retention and graduation rates for students served. An important corollary to this mission is that project staff will incorporate a supportive, student-centered approach in its interaction with students and in maintaining the TRiO SSS office environment.

    Position Details

    Position Title: Program Coordinator II

    Position Number: 291090

    Department: TRIO Student Support Services

    Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year.

    Salary: $18.585/hr Current employee’s rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan and will minimally be this posted salary. For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan , email the Compensation Department .

    Probationary Period: Six months minimum
