    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Material Handler ensures customer needs are met by fulfilling orders including monitoring and maintaining inventory levels by performing cycle counts, receiving materials, kitting orders, and delivering materials to correct departments/ locations.  This position will support both lifecycle parts receiving/ fulfillment and production.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Receive and deliver inventory to appropriate location and personnel; requires detail matching, counting, weighing, and reporting discrepancies of incoming materials to ensure accuracy.
    • Unload, receive, store, pull, pack, and transport materials in accordance with the receiving SOP.
    • Perform inspections on incoming materials as required.
    • Provide all documentation and coordinate all packing and shipping of orders, slips, and commercial invoices both domestic and international.
    • Daily, pull various reports and reconcile currier orders and pick-ups to provide needed documentation to Accounting department for payment of invoices.
    • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of Spare Parts orders.
    • Kit orders and expedite shortages to meet committed shipment schedule.
    • Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements, including required PPE.

     

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for coordinating, pulling, kitting, and shipping of Corporate and RMF orders.
    • Exceptional attendance.
    • Responsible for area housekeeping.
    • Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Work is performed in an uncontrolled atmosphere.  Exposure to harsh conditions—such as:  dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures.  All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas. 

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.   While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear.  Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis is required.  Must be able to stand and walk 95% of the time and sit 5% of the time.

     

    KNOWLEDGE/ SKILL/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • 1 year of stock room or inventory experience or equivalent preferred.
    • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
    • Strong commitment to follow-through.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Basic math skills and problem-solving skills are required.
    • Basic computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) preferred.
    • Must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
    • Ability to operate a forklift strongly preferred; previous experience a plus.
    • Ability to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work required.

    WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Must be physically able to perform the major functions of the job including driving a security vehicle, riding a bicycle, walking frequently, and climbing stairs.
