Program Coordinator
Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Program Coordinator will perform a wide variety of program management activities related to the projects administered by the Consortium. The Program Coordinator will plan, develop, and implement programs, grants, and special projects that serve child care providers, parents, and organizations in Riverside County. The emphasis will be on child development, quality of care, provider assistance, training, and research. Tasks will include preparing detailed reports, data collection, dissemination of information, writing grants, monitoring grants for compliance, facilitating meetings, trainings, workshops and/or conferences, active participation in the community, maintaining required documentation and records, and attending Consortium, Council and staff meetings, and other duties as assigned. ABILITIES: • Ability to organize, direct, and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and independently. • Ability to professionally communicate in writing and orally • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, community organizations, agencies and providers • Ability to develop and present written and oral presentations • Ability to research and analyze data, curriculum, program quality indicators, needs assessments, strategic plans, and training programs • Ability to prepare a variety of statistical, financial, and narrative reports MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • A.A, B.A. or B.S. from an accredited college/university in Child Development, Human Development or closely related field • Two years successful experience in Child Development programs, project development, administration • Knowledge of child care and development, best practices and principles of early childhood education, child care regulations and current child development research • Use of computer programs: Windows and Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail and the Internet • Experience with data entry, marketing and social media • Physically able to sit and/or stand for extended periods (4 hours/day) • Physically able to lift up to 25 pounds (necessary for job) • Valid California driver’s license and full coverage automobile insurance REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Ability to read, write and speak Spanish fluently • Experience coordinating special events and projects

The Consortium for Early Learning Services is a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing leadership and assistance in the establishment of quality, affordable and accessible Early Care and Education programs. Founded in 1982 and incorporated in 1987, the Consortium for Early Learning Services partners with many local agencies to provide county-wide services to Early Care and Education professionals, public and private agencies and families. The accomplishments of the Consortium for Early Learning Services include developing new centers and family child care homes; sponsoring community awareness events; assisting employers with employee child care issues; providing community ECE resources; assisting planning departments with zoning, ordinance and regulations; providing scholarships to assist families with the cost of child care; and providing professional development opportunities for ECE providers.
