    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a highly organized and dependable Construction Accountant to support the accounting team in managing financial transactions and ensuring compliance across multiple active construction projects. This individual will work closely with the Financial Controller, Accounting Specialists, and Project Managers to maintain financial integrity, track project performance, and support business operations. The role is designed for a seasoned professional familiar with the construction industry and comfortable handling both day-to-day transactions and high-level reporting tasks.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Project & Vendor Financial Management

    • Prepare, review, and input monthly billing for clients, subcontractors, and vendors

    • Process weekly payments (including joint checks), manage accounts payable/receivable, and track payment status and collections

    • Ensure proper approvals and documentation for all financial transactions

    Compliance & Documentation

    • Maintain compliance with construction industry financial standards (lien releases, certified payroll, insurance certs, etc.)

    • Update and manage vendor records (W9s, COIs, contact info)

    • Assist with documentation for audits (internal and external)

    Data Entry & System Management

    • Enter and manage data across accounting and project management systems

    • Work within QuickBooks Contractor Edition (required) and Procore (preferred)

    Advanced Financial Support (Senior-Level Responsibilities)

    • Assist with weekly payroll, tax payments, benefit remittances, and reporting

    • Support month-end close: accruals, journal entries, GL reconciliation

    • Perform cash flow analysis and reconcile bank/investment accounts

    • Prepare and review financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, project cost reports)

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting highly preferred, or equivalent experience (8+ years)

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction accounting (Required)

    • Proficient in QuickBooks Contractor Edition (Required)

    • Experience with Procore or other project management software (Preferred)

    • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting

    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication abilities

    • Able to handle confidential information with discretion and accuracy
