We are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients - a rapidly growing Texas-based MEP engineering firm with multiple offices. Day-To-Day:

As a Construction Administrator , you will be the firm’s eyes and ears in the field, helping to bridge the gap between design intent and project execution. This role blends technical knowledge with practical construction insight, requiring a strong grasp of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Technology systems and how they interact. You’ll observe construction progress, verify quality, document findings, and serve as a vital link between project teams, contractors, and clients.

Responsibilities:

• Review contract information to understand the project scope and determine the level of CA services.
• Observe construction progress and perform on-site quality control inspections for compliance with contract documents.
• Review and respond to submittals and RFIs.
• Represent the firm at OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings.
• Conduct field observations and prepare written reports for each visit.
• Identify and communicate design issues to the Team Leader and Project Manager.
• Review pay applications and coordinate with PM/Accounting for accurate invoicing.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to maintain smooth communication.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction administration or a related contracting role.
• Strong knowledge of MEPT systems, codes, standards, and construction terminology.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction drawings, documents, materials, methods, and phasing.
• Experience with commercial construction projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and PlanGrid (or similar).
• Skilled at documenting, reporting, and communicating technical and project information.
• Must be able to perform on-site observations, including accessing active construction sites, climbing ladders/stairs, and walking/standing for extended periods.
• Some night or weekend work and occasional overnight travel may be required depending on project schedules.
• Ability to work fully on-site in San Antonio, TX.

Location and Schedule: San Antonio, TX. Monday 8:00-5:30pm, Tuesday-Thursday 7:30-5:30pm, Friday 7:30-12:00pm

• Competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 based on experience.
