    Job Description

    We are seeking a Consultant to join our Construction Advisory team, who is looking to establish a career in engineering and construction focusing on claims and dispute resolution, delay analysis, project advisory services, construction cost analysis and controls, construction planning and scheduling. As a Consultant, you will be partnered frequently with subject matter experts, giving the unique opportunity to work with a diverse set of clients and projects. We are looking for high-caliber candidates who want to further their professional development through collaboration and provide thorough and objective analysis to assess and mitigate risks on complex projects and real-world construction issues. Areas of focus that you would be involved in include the following.

    • Assisting in advising clients in the engineering and construction space
    • Review and assess project change orders, including scope, costs, and schedules
    • Review and analysis of project schedules, including delay analysis
    • Loss of productivity and inefficiency analysis
    • Calculation of damages including increased material, labor costs, or additional subcontractor costs
    • Analysis of extended general conditions and other time-related costs
    • Review and interpretation of drawings and specifications
    • Assist in preparation of expert reports and presentations
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, etc. or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management.
    • Microsoft Office - Advanced skills preferred, especially in Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
    • Bluebeam, Adobe, or other PDF management software
    • Scheduling software - Microsoft Project or Primavera Products
    • Position requires that you come into the designated office on a hybrid schedule.
    • Can be either a recent graduate or someone with 1-3 years of experience in the engineering or construction industry including internships

    Physical and Mental Job Qualifications

    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position during work shift
    • Must be able to travel both in the United States and internationally

    • Analytical Thinker : Ability to systematically collect, organize, and interpret data from multiple sources to support observations and provide decision making guidance to clients
    • Skilled Communicator : Effectively communicates at all organizational levels, both in writing and orally. Maintains confidentiality of clients and J.S. Held.
    • Prioritizes Quality of Work : Has strong work ethic, taking care to produce accurate work. Has mechanisms in place to check work and ensure the quality of work being produced is accurate and timely. ****
    • Maintains Professionalism : Has a positive attitude, displays a sense of pride, enthusiasm, optimism and deep dedication for work with both clients and colleagues. Is a self-manager in proactively and ethically managing client requirements and professional development in a hybrid work environment.

    A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $65k-80k. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
