Construction Estimator - Commercial Retail Construction - Base Salary to 125k/year - Macomb, MI

• Our client is a national commercial general contractor specializing in open-store remodels, tenant improvements, and ground-up construction for retail and restaurant (QSR & fast casual) clients. They deliver high-volume, programmatic work across the U.S., with a strong reputation for safety, speed, and client satisfaction.
• They are seeking a Construction Estimator to support high-volume retail and restaurant projects, including remodels, rollouts, and select ground-up builds.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for retail and restaurant construction projects (remodels, tenant improvements, and ground-up)
• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, and subcontractors
• Solicit and level bids from subcontractors and vendors across multiple trades
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop competitive proposals
• Participate in hard bids, negotiated bids, and value engineering efforts
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Preconstruction, and clients during bid process
• Conduct scope reviews and gap analysis to ensure complete bid coverage
• Assist in subcontractor buyout and pre-award meetings
• Support change order pricing and cost tracking as needed

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating (GC environment required)
• Experience estimating retail, restaurant, or tenant improvement projects strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Material take-offs
  • Subcontractor solicitation & leveling
  • Cost analysis and value engineering
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 85k - 125k/year range
