Construction Estimator - Construction - Base Salary to 85k/year - Arlington Heights, IL

• AllSearch Recruiting is searching for a Construction Estimator for our client in Arlington Heights. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for bidding jobs in the construction industry (banking and financial projects), negotiating with subcontractors and performing takeoffs. This will involve hands-on, in-office collaboration with the PMs and Operations teams, as well as occasional travel to job sites, including (infrequently) out of state. Candidates with experience Estimating in commercial construction are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze blueprints, specs, proposals, and other documentation
• Calculate accurate labor, equipment, and material costs for commercial construction jobs
• Prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, and services
• Coordinate subcontractor bids, including preparing bid invitations, reviewing incoming bids for scope and pricing, scheduling site visits with subcontractors to review the scope of projects, acquiring best pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, and developing bid presentations
• Work in conjunction with the Operations and PM teams throughout the preconstruction process
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Attend pre-bid meetings
• Prepare project documents, material release schedules, client information, project schedules and other documentation to assure a steady stream of information to the Project Managers
• Travel to job sites as necessary to collect measurements and photographs

Qualifications:

• 2+ years Estimating experience required, GC experience preferred
• Experience with design-build, construction management, and hard bid projects
• Must be able to work full time in the Arlington Heights office, with one day a week from home once established
• Computer-savvy, proficiency with Excel required, proficiency with Estimating software preferred
• Experience with Design and/or Project Management is a plus
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret plans and specifications relative to the scope of work and schedule specified for each project within bid time frames
• Must have experience with architectural and structural drawings
• Must have experience building relationships with subcontractors
• Must have the ability to occasionally travel to projects in other states

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 80k – 85k/year range
