    Installation Manager Reports to: President

    Overview

The Installation Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for managing, developing, and motivating our carpentry and floor coating installation teams. This role requires a confident communicator with extensive experience in residential carpentry installations — from basic to complex built-ins — and strong leadership and problem-solving abilities. Floor coating experience is a plus.

This is a full-time, salaried position with bonus potential, based in Chantilly. Typical hours start around 6–6:30 a.m. through mid-afternoon, with some off-hour communication expected. The role involves a mix of office, warehouse, and field work, including quality checks, training, service calls, and project troubleshooting.

    Key Attributes

Inspiring, emotionally intelligent leader who models company values.

Strong communicator with empathy, professionalism, and a “can-do” attitude.

Collaborative team player across departments and with clients.

Excellent problem solver who stays calm under pressure.

    Detail-oriented, reliable, and safety-conscious.

Experienced in HR processes, performance management, and employee development.

    Responsibilities

    Crew Management & Support

Lead carpentry and flooring crews to complete high-quality work on time and to client satisfaction.

Ensure crews have materials, training, and clear information.

Support crews with troubleshooting and field issues while empowering independence.

Review completed projects for quality and efficiency; provide constructive feedback.

    Scheduling & Staffing

Partner with the project scheduler to plan and adjust crew assignments based on skills.

Handle same-day staffing schedule changes when needed.

Review and approve timesheets; monitor attendance and address issues.

Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management for installation staff.

    Go-Backs & Service Work

Manage and track all service calls and rework to ensure timely, one-visit completion.

Ensure service technicians have clear scopes and materials.

Review outcomes to identify improvement opportunities.

    Field Operations & Safety

Oversee morning load-outs with the Warehouse Lead to ensure crews are prepared.

Maintain high standards for safety, vehicle upkeep, and cleanliness.

Track and report key performance metrics such as “right the first time” rate and weekly installed dollars.

Develop and document procedures, checklists, and safety protocols.

    Team Development

Coach, mentor, and build a skilled, motivated, and prideful team.

Conduct regular field visits and performance discussions, including annual reviews.

Recognize achievements and foster employee engagement.

Work with leadership to enhance training, recognition, and career growth programs.

    Fleet & Equipment

Monitor fleet condition, ensure timely maintenance, and enforce safety checks.

Oversee tool and equipment maintenance and replacement schedules.

    Qualifications

3–5+ years of experience managing teams in residential carpentry or related trades.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Proven ability to manage HR functions and performance feedback.

Technically skilled in installation methods and able to assist in-field as needed.

Proficient in basic computer systems (CRM, Word, time tracking, Company Cam, Fleet Management).

Fluent or conversational in Spanish and English.

Valid driver’s license, clear driving record, and legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
