    Construction Foreman - Residential Construction - Base Salary to 70k/year - Racine, WI

    • Our client is a nonprofit residential builder seeking an experienced Construction Foreman to oversee daily construction operations across multiple residential job sites. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising residential construction activities, coordinating volunteers, subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with applicable building codes and quality standards.
    • The ideal candidate has strong residential construction experience, enjoys leading crews while remaining actively involved in the work, and takes pride in delivering quality craftsmanship.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead daily construction operations across assigned residential job sites.
    • Perform and supervise hands-on residential construction work including framing, siding, finish carpentry, trim work, exterior work, general carpentry, and punch list completion.
    • Coordinate daily activities with volunteers, subcontractors, inspectors, suppliers, and project participants.
    • Provide job site leadership while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
    • Support project scheduling and coordinate daily construction activities to meet project milestones.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety requirements, local building codes, quality standards, and inspection requirements.
    • Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
    • Maintain inventory of construction tools, equipment, and building materials.
    • Inspect and maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe operating condition.
    • Maintain clean, organized, and compliant job sites.
    • Make day-to-day field decisions to keep projects moving efficiently.
    • Communicate project progress, scheduling updates, material needs, and construction challenges to project leadership.
    • Assist in resolving field issues while maintaining quality and schedule expectations.

    Qualifications:

    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant construction experience.
    • 3+ years of residential or commercial construction experience.
    • Experience supervising construction crews, coordinating subcontractors, or leading residential construction projects.
    • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, building codes, OSHA safety standards, and construction best practices.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
    • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
    • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move construction tools, equipment, and materials.
    • Ability to travel between local job sites.
    • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and safely traverse active residential construction sites, including climbing ladders and lifting construction materials.
    • Full-time position working 40+ hours per week. This position is primarily based on active residential construction sites and requires regular travel between local project locations.

    Compensation:

    • Base salary in the 50k - 70k/year range.
