    Job Description

    AECOM has a need for Construction Inspectors for US Army Corps of Engineers at the Pituffik Space Base in Greenland. This assignment will be located in at Base Name in Greenland. Candidates need to be able and willing to reside and work on-site for an expected duration of 10-12 months, with travel back to the United States approximately every two months for 2 weeks time-off. Preferred qualifications include more than 6 years of experience as a construction project inspector on large complex multimillion dollar DoD construction projects. Job responsibilities will include reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications for completeness, accuracy, and constructability. Field construction inspection and reporting will comprise the majority of the work. Interaction with clients and contractors requires candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

    This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following: ****

    • Provide oversight of the contractor to ensure compliance with contract requirements and standards.
    • Evaluation of level of inspection, testing procedures and results, documentation of deficiency correction, etc. in accordance with the USACE 3-Phase inspection program.
    • Document compliance to construction standards and specifications.
    • Complete and maintain records of field observations, including daily reports outlining the work performed, as well as field measurements and computations.
    • Participate in technical review of submittals and development plans to ensure conformity to USACE standards and specifications.
    • Document observations and inspections of construction including discrepancy notices for non-compliant items.

    • Attend and participate in construction progress meeting.
    • Perform infrastructure walk through and develop punch lists as required.
    • Work to resolve conflicts with construction installation.
    • Provide construction photographs as required to document progress and problem areas.
    • Ensure that safety and USACE regulations and building codes were considered and followed during the construction of utility equipment.
    • Attend contractor's weekly project meetings.
    • Participate in tests, demonstrations, and field instructions with the appropriate personnel.

    Minimum Requirements

    • HS + 10 years of related experience or AA/AS (US) + 8 years of related experience or Diploma/Certificate (Canada) + 8 years of related experience

    Preferred Requirements

    • 5 years of experience as a construction project inspector on large complex multimillion dollar DoD construction projects,
    • experience using Microsoft Office and experience using RMS.
    • Knowledge of the USACE Three Phase Inspection Process
    • Knowledge of EM 385-1 Safety Requirements
    • CQM Certification
