About the Role

As a Construction Intern , you’ll gain hands-on exposure to the field side of the asphalt and paving industry while supporting our construction operations team. You’ll work alongside superintendents, foremen, and operations leaders to better understand how projects are planned, executed, and evaluated.

This internship is designed for students interested in construction management, engineering, or related fields who want real-world experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support construction operations teams on active paving and milling projects

• Assist with auditing crew performance and observing production efficiencies

• Participate in equipment studies to help evaluate utilization and productivity

• Support scheduling, planning, and operational coordination efforts • Observe and learn how field decisions impact project timelines, costs, and quality

• Assist with collecting and reviewing field data and operational metrics

• Collaborate with project teams to support continuous improvement initiatives

• Gain exposure to safety practices, jobsite procedures, and quality standards

• Learn how construction projects are tracked, evaluated, and improved over time

Internship Schedule

• May–August summer internship

• Full-time, in-person position

• 5 days per week, 8 hours per day

• Based out of Thornton, IL , with frequent time spent in the field on active job sites
