The Skilled Laborer is responsible for performing general labor and support activities related to underground telecom construction and system upgrades. This position works closely with the Foreman, Machine Operators, and crew members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
Load, transport, and unload materials and equipment to and from job sites
Prepare and maintain job sites in compliance with safety regulations and company standards
Assist Machine Operators with conduit installation and placement
Shovel and grade dirt to support trenching and conduit placement
Dig trenches and perform spot-digging to safely expose existing utilities
Perform minor concrete and asphalt repairs
Maintain a clean and organized work area free of debris
Assist the Foreman with daily reports and required documentation
3+ years of experience in underground telecom or utility construction preferred
Experience operating mini excavators (Mini-Ex) preferred
Strong understanding of underground utility work and job site safety
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
Willingness to work on-call, including evenings and weekends as needed
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs
Valid driver's license required
Must pass a background check and drug screening
