This role requires a strong field presence—approximately 70% on-site and 30% office-based—and an ability to manage fast-moving construction environments with confidence and calm.

In this position, you will work closely with project managers, site superintendents, and field teams to maintain progress, resolve issues, and drive project milestones. The ideal candidate is comfortable “getting their hands dirty,” proactively solving problems, and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships with crews and subcontractors.

    Key Responsibilities

Field Operations & Daily Site Management

    • Oversee daily construction progress across multiple active job sites, providing consistent updates to project leadership.
    • Coordinate with site superintendents to schedule crews based on project needs and worker strengths.
    • Ensure adequate staffing across all projects in collaboration with other construction management team members.
    • Maintain strict safety compliance on all job sites—ensuring they remain 100% safe and compliant at all times.
    • Verify that all work aligns with project plans, building codes, and quality expectations.
    • Assist in resolving challenges related to construction issues, inspections, or crew coordination.
    • Lead close-out efforts, punch lists, and site transitions to post-construction or service teams.

    Crew Management & Performance Oversight

    • Provide timely feedback on crew performance to leadership.
    • Monitor team morale and proactively address conflicts or potential issues.
    • Ensure crews have the materials, tools, and information they need for upcoming tasks.

    Material & Equipment Coordination

    • Identify required materials for assigned tasks and plan strategic procurement.
    • Verify accuracy and necessity of material orders and secure favorable pricing.
    • Coordinate deliveries and assist in managing inventory of tools and materials.

    Administrative & Project Controls

    • Review daily logs, time sheets, labor codes, cost codes, and purchase receipts for accuracy.
    • Participate in the development of project budgets and schedules.
    • Assist with project reconciliations, progress reporting, and forecasting of future spending.
    • Identify potential change orders in collaboration with project and site teams.
    • Manage building-department-related issues, including hearings and violations when needed.
    • Attend weekly internal meetings and maintain relevant tracking documents for construction priorities.
    • Collaborate with teams to develop and maintain two-week lookahead schedules.

    What Success Looks Like

    • Job sites operate safely, efficiently, and without preventable interruptions.
    • Crews are productive, well-supported, and aligned with project goals.
    • Materials and tools arrive on time and with proper coordination.
    • Field operations are communicated clearly and proactively.
    • Project schedules remain on track, with issues addressed before they escalate.
    • Administrative documentation is timely, accurate, and complete.

    Qualifications

    • Experience managing residential or commercial construction projects.
    • Strong understanding of construction methods, site logistics, and scheduling.
    • Ability to lead field crews and work closely with superintendents and project managers.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
    • Willingness and ability to spend the majority of time in the field on active job sites.
