    Owner’s Representative – Construction Manager (Pharmaceutical Projects)

    Location: Clayton | North Carolina
    Type: Contract | Full-Time
    Duration: 12 months
    Schedule: Standard hours with extended/on-call support during shutdowns

    About the Role

    We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to act as Owner’s Representative supporting a portfolio of pharmaceutical capital projects. These roles will provide on-site construction oversight and coordination for facility, utility, and warehouse infrastructure upgrades across a large-scale manufacturing campus.

    You will work directly with internal project teams and external contractors to ensure safety, quality, and timelines are met throughout all phases of construction. This is a field-focused position that requires attention to detail, confidence in high-compliance environments, and strong communication skills.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Serve as the Owner’s Rep on active construction sites, overseeing daily contractor activities

    • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, construction quality, and compliance standards

    • Support capital project delivery including black/clean utility upgrades, warehouse modifications, and facility infrastructure work

    • Coordinate permitting with EHS, system owners, and project managers

    • Participate in scope reviews, pre-construction planning, and schedule updates

    • Provide input on RFIs, change orders, and contractor performance

    • Perform field inspections, maintain daily logs, and conduct QA/QC reviews

    • Support construction shutdown coverage (twice annually, may include 24/7 availability)

    Required Qualifications

     

    • 8+ years of Construction Management experience, preferably in pharmaceuticals or life sciences

    • Demonstrated leadership on capital projects from pre-construction through closeout

    • Strong understanding of construction safety and OSHA standards

    • Proficiency in reading CAD drawings, P&IDs, and specs

    • Comfortable working on-site in active construction environments

    • Familiar with Microsoft Office, construction logs, and field documentation

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities

    • Experience supporting CQV/startup phases (preferred)

    • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred, not required with relevant experience)
