Technical Source is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead onsite construction execution for large-scale capital projects at a regulated OSD pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role is fully embedded onsite and accountable for day-to-day field execution, contractor oversight, cost and schedule performance, and safe delivery within an operating plant.
This individual will act as the owner’s on-site construction lead, managing the CM firm and coordinating closely with engineering, system owners, project controls, and operations to deliver compliant construction through system turnover and readiness for CQ and Validation.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Execution
Lead onsite construction teams, including client resources, CM firm, and construction safety.
Own daily field execution, progress tracking, and issue resolution.
Ensure safe, high-quality construction aligned with GMP, clean construction, and operational readiness requirements.
Project Coordination
Coordinate with engineering design, system owners, and Project Engineering Services to meet construction milestones.
Manage construction interfaces with existing operations, utilities, and infrastructure.
Coordinate with vendors, consultants, municipalities, and local utilities.
Cost, Schedule & Controls
Manage construction change notices (CNs).
Review monthly CM cost reports and payment applications.
Partner with Project Controls on invoicing, change management, forecasting, and monthly reporting.
Maintain an integrated schedule covering design, construction, CQ, and owner validation through turnover.
Reporting & Turnover
Provide weekly progress, risk, and milestone updates.
Deliver monthly financial, schedule, and risk status reports.
Ensure complete contractor turnover documentation, including test reports, as-builts, and closeout packages.
Support system turnover readiness for CQ and Owner Validation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
7+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years managing capital construction projects.
Strong experience delivering pharmaceutical construction in regulated environments.
Extensive experience with OSD manufacturing and packaging facilities, including equipment and line installations.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
Preferred Experience
Background supporting OSD manufacturing within operations, maintenance, or capital projects.
Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills.
Experience with project scheduling tools and collaborative project platforms.
Familiarity with GMP manufacturing environments (pharma, food & beverage, or healthcare).
Working knowledge of hygiene design, cleanroom electrical standards, and validation practices.
Solid understanding of the project lifecycle from design through system turnover.
