Description of Duties Plan, coordinate, budget, and supervise construction projects and/or project packages from start to finish. Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables, often in conjunction with other specialists. Interpret and explain contracts, requirements and technical information to other professionals. Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers and other construction specialists. Monitor projects and report progress and budget matters. Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems with the project. Ensure that the project complies with legal requirements, such building and safety codes.

Minimum Education Level Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred

Minimum Years & Experience 10 years or more Construction Management experience, preferably on airport projects

Professional Licenses and Certifications Optional Certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PMP, PE, and/or any other relevant Professional Licensure or Certification.

Position Description

Synopsis The TDIP Construction Manager shall report to their assigned project’s respective project manager and is responsible for managing and coordinating construction activities of the Construction Contractor (Design/Builder and/or Construction Manager at Risk). The TDIP Construction Manager acts as the liaison for pre-construction and construction activities, including leading the safety, security and quality for the assigned programs. The Terminal Development and Improvement Program (TDIP) is a major capital program delivering projects that modernize LAX’s passenger terminals to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, safety, and connectivity across the airport. Position Description Summary The TDIP Construction Manager is responsible for managing the scope, cost, schedule and operational interfaces of all design and construction related activities for the program. The TDIP Construction Manager will be focused on schedule certainty, budget delivery and making sure that construction work meets the required quality standards while enforcing a strong health, safety, and environmental culture on the project. The TDIP Construction Manager will support the development and implementation of design, construction, testing, commissioning, turnover plans, impacts to the operations, ensuring that risk mitigation for construction activities are optimized, working and coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring LAWA standards are adhered to. Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations. Multiple positions are anticipated – Submitted experience to emphasis airport concourse scope, airport headhouse scope, or site/civil scope. Education/Training Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other related field required. Master's degree preferred. Maybe required to work past regular work shift. Maybe required to work various shifts as needed. LAWA will provide a desktop computer that can be VPN’d into. Consultant MUST have a company-provided laptop computer. This is required for company business and to VPN into LAWA system when away from the office as necessary. A cell phone provided by consultant is required. This is NOT a work-from-home position. This is a salaried position based on 40 hours per week at the applicable all-in labor rate. This is a Monday-Friday full-time position in the office or on the project site at LAX. After-hours or weekend work may be required to perform the duties of the position. This shall be considered part of the salary. Transportation to/from LAX worksite is the responsibility of the consultant
