Construction Project Accountant / Senior Project Accountant
Commercial & Industrial Construction (Ongoing Search)
San Francisco Bay Area | Full-time | Hybrid or In-office (role dependent)

Building Talent partners with commercial and industrial construction firms across California on ongoing and upcoming Project Accountant and Senior Project Accountant needs. This posting reflects roles we regularly support as firms grow, projects scale, and accounting teams expand.

This role focuses on commercial and industrial construction projects
(such as healthcare, higher education, infrastructure, manufacturing, and mission-critical work) and does not include residential or single-family home construction.

We’re connecting with Construction Project Accountants who have direct contractor-side experience and are comfortable managing the financial side of projects from setup through closeout. Depending on the firm and role level, responsibilities may range from hands-on project accounting to more senior ownership of project financials across multiple jobs.

Core responsibilities

• Project setup, budgets, job cost tracking, and financial reporting
  Billing, A/R, and collections
• Vendor, subcontractor, and consultant invoicing
• Contract, change order, and cost control support
• Ongoing coordination with Project Managers, Operations, and leadership teams

Required / preferred software experience

• Sage 300 CRE / Sage Timberline, Viewpoint Vista, or Spectrum
  CMiC, Procore or similar project financial management tools
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, formulas; Power Query a plus)

Backgrounds that tend to align well

• Project accounting experience within commercial or industrial construction environments
• Experience supporting larger-scale, multi-phase construction projects
• Comfort managing multiple concurrent jobs
• Detail-driven, organized, and confident partnering closely with PMs and operations teams
