Construction Project Engineer - Construction - Base Salary to 70k/year - Arlington Heights, IL
Our client, an established general contractor with more than 50 years in the construction industry, is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support commercial construction projects in Arlington Heights, IL. This role will work closely with Project Management, Estimating, and Operations throughout the project lifecycle, with a focus on retail and banking construction projects. The Construction Project Engineer will support project setup, subcontractor coordination, estimating and takeoffs, RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, contracts, and project closeout.
Responsibilities:
Assist Project Managers with day-to-day construction project administration and coordination
Set up new projects and coordinate subcontractor onboarding, insurance requirements, subcontractor agreements, and project documentation
Perform construction estimating and quantity takeoffs as needed
Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, prime contracts, and related construction documentation
Assist with project closeout documentation and turnover requirements
Coordinate with Estimating, Project Management, and Operations teams throughout the project lifecycle
Enter, maintain, and transfer project data and documentation within construction management systems
Support retail, banking, and other commercial construction projects
Qualifications:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Employment Registration Card (PERC)
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams
Ability to travel occasionally throughout Chicagoland and neighboring Great Lakes states
