Construction Project Executive – Mechanical Construction

We’re partnering with a nationally recognized mechanical contractor to hire a Project Executive to lead large, complex mechanical construction programs across the U.S. This senior leadership role provides oversight of project management teams, financial performance, safety culture, and client relationships. The ideal candidate is a proven construction leader who thrives in high-impact environments and is motivated by building strong teams, profitable projects, and long-term client partnerships. This contractor has an immediate need for a project in Louisiana.
Project Executive Responsibilities:
- Provide executive-level oversight for multiple mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Lead and mentor Project Managers and Superintendents, setting clear expectations around safety, schedule, quality, and financial performance
- Drive project financial results, including margin, labor productivity, cash flow, billing, and collections
- Oversee and support estimating, change management, and contract negotiations to protect and grow profitability
- Champion a proactive safety culture through site visits, audits, and leadership engagement
- Ensure compliance with site-specific safety plans, toolbox talks, pre-task planning, and safety systems
- Represent the organization at industry events, customer outings, and networking functions
- Support business development efforts by identifying growth opportunities and contributing to proposal and sales strategies
- Recruit, develop, and retain top project leadership talent
- Partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives that support divisional and company-wide objectives
Project Executive Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience in mechanical construction project management and leadership
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, construction documents, and design principles
- Proven success managing large, complex projects with full financial accountability
- Executive-level experience in estimating, change management, and contract strategy
- Strong understanding of construction operations, business finance, and legal aspects of the industry
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and build high-performing teams
- Comfortable serving as a senior client-facing leader and company representative
- Willingness to travel nationwide as projects require
