Construction Project Manager - Airport Project - Base Salary to 85.00/hour - New York, NY

    • AllSearch Recruiting has a client in the market for a Construction Project Manager at a New York City airport; that is a 6-month contract most likely starting end of December/Early January. The project is a multi-site restaurant development that has a number of large brands. The company we are working with is looking for a 1099 based Construction Project Manager that can work in a hybrid situation and lives locally to NYC.
    • The ideal candidate brings a strong track record of multi-unit restaurant or retail build-outs, thrives in complex, high-regulation environments, and is exceptional at organizing moving parts across multiple stakeholders. This role requires someone who can operate with urgency, precision, and diplomacy inside one of the busiest airports in the world.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage all phases of the restaurant development cycle including site surveys, design finalization, construction, equipment installation, inspections, and handoff.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and Airport authorities, the Port Authority of NY/NJ, terminal operators, and airport concessionaire management.
    • Navigate all licensing, permitting, safety reviews, MEP approvals, fire inspections, and security clearance requirements unique to airport operations.
    • Oversee general contractors, electricians, plumbers, millwork teams, HVAC vendors, hood suppliers, and other subcontractors.
    • Build and maintain detailed project budgets for each unit.
    • Review proposals, negotiate bid packages, evaluate change orders, and ensure cost efficiency.

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in project management within restaurant, retail, hospitality, or airport construction environments.
    • Demonstrated success leading multi-unit or simultaneous build-outs.
    • Deep familiarity with construction sequencing, MEP systems, architectural drawings, and vendor coordination.
    • Experience working with airport authorities, Port Authority compliance, or complex permitting environments strongly preferred.
    • Proven ability to negotiate, manage budgets, and oversee contractors with a high level of discipline.

    Compensation:

    • Base salary in the 75.00 - 85.00/hour range on a 6-month contract basis.
    • Hybrid opportunity with on-site capabilities at the airport.
