    Butterfly Staffing is seeking an experienced Project Manager for our Virginia Beach based client that is a federal contractor specializing in commercial and government construction projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of high-visibility projects, managing them from proposal through completion while supporting on-site teams and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Lead and support Site Superintendents to ensure seamless execution of daily field operations.
    • Own the full project lifecycle—from writing proposals and cost estimating to value engineering and construction closeout.
    • Manage budgets and timelines, proactively resolving scope changes and schedule deviations.
    • Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring quality workmanship and timely execution.
    • Review and approve change orders, RFIs, and project documentation in coordination with the field and design teams.
    • Prepare detailed monthly project status reports outlining progress, updates, and cost/schedule impacts.
    • Conduct site inspections at critical milestones, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
    • Attend project meetings and represent the general contractor with professionalism and leadership.

    What You Bring:

    • Proven experience in federal and/or commercial construction project management.
    • Strong understanding of construction practices, permitting, and safety codes (including OSHA compliance).
    • Ability to manage and mentor on-site teams and coordinate with a variety of stakeholders.
    • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
    • Prior experience with proposal development, estimating, subcontractor negotiation, and scheduling.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with government contract documentation and reporting procedures.
    • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or similar).
    • Ability to travel to project sites as required.

    $95,000-$115,000 per year
