Senior Project Manager

Konik is partnering with a growing, relationship-driven commercial general contractor to add a Senior Project Manager to their team. This is a high-impact role within a smaller, tight-knit group where this individual will take ownership of projects from preconstruction through closeout while playing an active role in maintaining and expanding client relationships.
This opportunity is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys running their own work, being involved in both estimating and project execution, and contributing to a company where reputation, repeat business, and long-term relationships drive success.
Senior Project Manager Responsibilities
- Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, managing scope, schedule, and financial performance
- Develop estimates, proposals, and budgets while supporting negotiated and repeat client work
- Manage subcontractor bidding, selection, and performance across the full project lifecycle
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company standards
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and partners to support repeat business and future opportunities
- Participate in project pursuits including walk-throughs, client meetings, and early design/development discussions
- Proactively identify and resolve project challenges, maintaining schedule, quality, and profitability
- Collaborate with field teams and leadership to ensure successful project delivery
Senior Project Manager Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience running projects independently as a Project Manager within a general contractor environment
- Experience managing projects cradle-to-grave, including estimating and project execution
- Background in commercial construction projects ranging from approximately $10M–$25M
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors, budgets, and schedules across multiple projects
- Ability to build and maintain strong client and vendor relationships
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly
Additional Role Details
- Projects primarily located in the Twin Cities, with occasional work in surrounding markets (including out-of-state projects)
- Office-based role with flexibility to work from job sites as needed (not a hybrid position)
- Mix of negotiated, repeat client work and select bid opportunities
- Small, collaborative team environment with high visibility and direct access to leadership
