Rock Creek Grading, LLC is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee heavy civil construction projects throughout Western North Carolina and surrounding areas. This position will manage multiple projects from startup through closeout while coordinating crews, subcontractors, suppliers, schedules, budgets, and client communication.
We are looking for someone who is organized, motivated, experienced in heavy civil construction, and capable of keeping projects moving safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Responsibilities
Manage heavy civil and roadway construction projects
Coordinate schedules, subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews
Track project costs, budgets, quantities, and production
Prepare and manage change orders and supplemental agreements
Review plans, specifications, contracts, and shop drawings
Communicate with NCDOT representatives, inspectors, engineers, and owners
Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
Attend project meetings and conduct site visits
Manage project documentation, reports, and daily communication
Assist with estimating and project planning when needed
Ensure safety and quality standards are maintained
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field REQUIRED
Minimum 5 years experience managing heavy civil or roadway construction projects
Experience with NCDOT projects preferred
Strong understanding of grading, utilities, erosion control, structures, and roadway construction
Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience managing project schedules and budgets
Valid driver’s license required
Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of NCDOT procedures and documentation
Experience managing bridge or infrastructure projects
Estimating experience is a plus
