Provide quality control support to the project team and direct personnel to implement quality requirements and to accurately status the results. Perform construction quality control inspection and surveillance ac vi es in support of project and/or maintenance ac vi es.

Review design output documents in accordance with approved procedures in order to establish inspection requirements in quality assurance procedures, construction plans, and/or work packages. Coordinate with internal and external sources to resolve quality issues and provide status of the inspection/test ac vi es for the work activity. Review technical criteria, personnel qualifications and work sequence on work packages including the nota on of hold points prior to performance of inspections. Perform or direct the quality inspection activities of subordinate QC engineers and other inspection personnel as assigned. Assist in resolution of code, specifications and drawing interpretations. Perform or supervise the performance of inspection witness, test, surveillance, and document the results of the inspection activities. Assess the completeness of construction activities and quality verification documentation prior to preparation of quality control releases for turnover. Review subcontractor's quality program for compliance to established procedures, a ends mobilization meetings and monitor their activities for proper implementation. Review suppliers and/or subcontractor's quality verification documentation for traceability and specification compliance. Review, assess and status subcontractors' costs, manpower and materials. Approve subcontracts invoices and application for payment.
Education: Bachelor's degree in technical discipline and at least 5 - 7 years of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas. An Associate's degree and 7 - 9 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. A high school diploma and 10 - 14 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent. Certifications with continuing technical training is required for performance of inspections and surveillance ac vi es. Specialized training may also be required to support certain technical areas.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred.
