Site Superintendent

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee on-site coordination and execution of our construction projects. In this role, you will lead daily field operations, ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with plans, specifications, and local building codes. You will serve as the central point of communication between subcontractors, project managers, consultants, and inspectors—playing a critical role in driving successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Coordination
- Manage day-to-day on-site operations for all phases of construction.
- Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to maintain project timelines.
- Lead weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
- Walk the job site daily to monitor progress, proactively identify issues, and support future planning.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure work meets project specifications, approved plans, and quality standards.
- Identify, document, and help resolve construction conflicts.
- Perform detailed quality control reviews throughout the project.
- Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors when needed.
Safety & Site Management
- Enforce jobsite health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate and support all required inspections with local authorities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe project environment.
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain a detailed written daily site log.
- Communicate clearly with the project team regarding ASIs, RFIs, and material submittals.
- Track and validate punch list items through project closeout.
Additional Duties
- Assist with budgeting, bidding, permit coordination, and subcontractor onboarding.
- Support the hiring of sub-tier employees as needed.
- Open and secure the jobsite at the beginning and end of each workday.
- Manage multiple job sites as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide daily oversight and direction to subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and assistant superintendents.
- Ensure adequate staffing and adherence to performance and safety standards.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong problem-solving ability and aptitude for resolving construction-related challenges.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding technical construction documents.
- Technologically capable: email, smartphones, digital cameras, and basic jobsite software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong planning and time-management abilities.
- Proven leadership skills with a team-focused mindset.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing site conditions.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and professionalism.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable construction experience with strong knowledge of building trades.
- Experience in tract housing or multifamily construction preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook) and construction management tools.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, procedures, and construction documents.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, climb, stoop, kneel, and navigate active construction sites.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfort working in indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work overtime to meet project deadlines.
Work Environment
- Exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, and outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasional exposure to chemicals, electrical risks, or vibrations.
- Must be able to travel to assigned job sites.
