We’re looking for a general contractor who can lead our labor crew and subcontractors to success and get the job done right. You’ll help our construction company plan and manage all new construction and remodeling projects for homeowners. You'll need to manage project costs and obtain all building permits. Our ideal candidate has at least 1 year of general contractor experience overseeing construction projects. Work on larger projects would be a bonus. Responsibilities: • Confirm that specialized tasks are completed correctly by hiring the appropriate subcontractors and construction workers with proper licensure • Evaluate subcontractor progress according to deadlines and performance goals to ensure construction is set to finish on time and meets quality standards • Comply with all best-practice health and safety standards to prevent injuries and slowdowns at construction sites, and promptly report any issues to the project manager if they do occur • Integrate client feedback during the building process and help the construction crew execute change orders • Adapt to the needs of the team and assist the project manager with other tasks when needed • Plumbing repairs, such as faucet and toilet repairs • Drywall repairs • Repairs, such as repairing trim, attaching, and cleaning gutters • Install replacement locks on residential homes • Performs work duties in a variety of environmental conditions, including but not limited to the following: Hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, dry, humid, slippery surfaces, heights, and possibly congested areas • Electric - Installation of light fixtures, repair/replacement of switches, and sockets • Follow through and follow up on all work orders assigned to you Qualifications: • Finished training for OSHA 30 license and firm adherence to safety protocols on the job-site • Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office • Must have a high school diploma, bachelor’s degree is preferred for this role • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and time-management skills • Must have general contractor license • The minimum age requirement is 21 years, with an insurable driving record • Candidate must have general maintenance experience • The candidate must have carpentry skills • The candidate must have electrical and plumbing skills • Must be willing to work with and assist co-workers as needed, in addition to working evening and weekend hours • Ability to continually climb (ladders), balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift heavy objects • Possess the tools necessary to complete repairs and installations • Valid Driver’s license • Teamwork and excellent communication, interpersonal skills, prioritize, multitask, take initiative, and be accountable Compensation: $19 - $22 hourly
