Construction Skilled Trades Instructor
Goodwill Industries of Michiana is seeking a passionate and skilled Construction Skilled Trades Instructor to deliver high-quality, hands-on training to individuals enrolled in our construction training program. This instructor will equip participants with the technical and essential skills needed to succeed in today’s construction workforce. The ideal candidate will have strong industry experience, a heart for community service, and the ability to inspire and mentor individuals from diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities: • Develop and deliver a curriculum focused on essential and technical construction skills, including OSHA regulations, math, tool usage, and basic rigging. • Organize and facilitate training sessions aligned with local workforce needs and employer expectations. • Maintain and manage all classroom and training equipment, ensuring readiness and safety. • Partner with Case Managers and internal departments to support participant progress and identify challenges. • Engage with local employers to build referral pipelines and job placement opportunities. • Maintain accurate student records and program documentation to meet accreditation and reporting requirements. Qualifications: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry or as a licensed instructor. • Proven ability to design, update, and deliver effective training curriculum. Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse populations. • Self-starter with excellent time management and the ability to prioritize competing tasks. • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team environment. • Must pass a background check and drug screening. • Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and provide proof of insurance to travel to different job sites. Compensation: $21 per hour
