    About the Role

    The Landings Association is seeking a Construction Specialist / Road & Path Maintenance professional to help maintain and improve the roads, pathways, and paved infrastructure throughout our community. This role supports the Public Works team in ensuring safe, smooth, and well-maintained roadways through skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and construction work.

    You will work under the Construction Project Manager and collaborate closely with other Public Works technicians and departments during special projects and emergency response operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform routine maintenance, repair, and patching of asphalt and concrete roads, paths, and curbs
    • Identify pavement failures, potholes, and surface issues and assist with repair or replacement
    • Prepare road surfaces for maintenance including cutting, sweeping, cleaning, and debris removal
    • Operate and maintain light and heavy equipment such as skid steers and front-end loaders
    • Apply asphalt, concrete, and other repair materials using hand and power tools
    • Clean storm drains, clear ditches, and maintain drainage systems to ensure proper water flow
    • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in clean and safe working condition
    • Follow all safety procedures including PPE use, traffic control, signage, and flagging
    • Assist with special projects, storm response, and emergency operations as needed
    • Maintain accurate records and complete tasks with minimal supervision
    • Model The Landings Association’s values and professionalism in all interactions
    • Participate in required training and certifications and stay current on compliance requirements
    • Report accidents, incidents, or near-misses immediately
    • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Knowledge of road construction, paving, and repair methods, materials, and equipment
    • Ability to safely operate construction equipment and hand/power tools
    • Knowledge of work zone safety and traffic control procedures
    • Ability to perform basic asphalt and concrete finishing
    • Ability to read maps, plans, and written instructions
    • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and complete tasks accurately and on time

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 1 to 2 years of experience in road maintenance, construction, or related field
    • Valid driver’s license and insurable under TLA vehicle insurance policy
    • Reliable and predictable attendance
    • Ability to meet physical and environmental job requirements, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions
