    Position summary

    Our client is currently seeking a full-time Superintendent to manage asset management operations on a comprehensive roadway maintenance project(s) in Memphis, TN. This position requires performing a wide range of responsibilities on new and existing asset maintenance and roadway services AM/O&M contracts related to planning work, scheduling/managing crews, roadway repair analysis, preparing project report submissions, interfacing with government Clients and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience in driving revenue growth and managing financial performance, with a strong understanding of how operational decisions impact project profitability. While a technical background in this type of business is preferred, it is not required. Proven leadership in dynamic environments, meticulous organizational skills, and adaptive, analytical problem-solving abilities are essential. This role also requires the ability to build and lead effective teams, and to operate comfortably across diverse settings—from office environments to project sites and formal meetings. Candidates should be motivated to grow their careers, foster strong teams, and maintain focus amid rapidly changing environments.

    • Project Field (65%): Outside environment around highway/facility infrastructure
    • Client Office (10%): Government-style professional offices within near proximity to project office
    • Construction/Maintenance Offices (15%): Project office compatible with industry standard for construction field offices
    • Divisional Project Sites (5%): Multiple sites through region and U.S.
    • Remote/Home Office (5%): Occasional job duties performed remotely at residence

    Responsibilities

    • Lead contract operations on roadway maintenance, repair, and construction operations
    • Manage project office and field operations
    • Coordinate financial planning and project budget projections that will assist senior managers
    • Tracking/reporting maintenance contract performance relative to plan, contract, and company targets
    • Work with Regional/Project Managers to develop short-term and long-term project maintenance repair plans e
    • Perform analysis to improve field prosecution, crew efficiency and maximize operational safety
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for presentation to Client and Corporate operations centers

    Required Experience

    • Highly efficient organizational skills in a multi-faceted long-term project environment
    • Minimum 10 years experience with roadway maintenance, project management, team leadership, or direct client facing responsibilities
    • Bachelor's Degree Engineering or Construction Management, ABET accredited university
    • Ability to rapidly develop a competent understanding of technical roadway maintenance specifications
    • Ability to lead, direct, and manage field maintenance crews and office staff
    • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
    • Effective communicator at all professional levels
    • Must be able to communicate with client verbally and in written form
    • Ability to manage project field emergencies 24/7
    • Ability to analyze field accomplishment data and prepare reports, statements and projections
    • Working knowledge of short- and long-term contract budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and revenue analysis

    Preferred Experience

    • Familiarity with DOT contract operations
    • PE certificate with reciprocity
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
    • Engineering/field operations professional experience
    • Military/Veteran or Law Enforcement leadership experience
    • Bachelors Degree: engineering, construction project management or related
    • Competent understanding of roadway maintenance and repair specifications
    • Technical experience with earthworks, landscaping, road construction, bridge maintenance, stormwater drainage maintenance

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma, some college courses required with College Degree preferred
    • Knowledge of administrative activities
    • Knowledge of phone and messaging systems
    • Competency of Microsoft Office software
    • Solid organizational planning
    • Proper phone technique and protocol
    • Excellent verbal and written skills
    • Skill in establishing priorities and managing work loads
    • Ability to perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in the order to meet changing job conditions
    • Neat and legible handwriting skills
    • Perform basic math skills including calculations using fractions, percent, and/ratios
    • Read and understand manuals, plans, specifications, write documents following prescribed formats
    • Understand multi-step written and oral instructions
    • Self-starter who can work independently
    • Dependable and highly organized with business and maturity, discretion, enthusiasm, and positive attitude
    • Ability to travel within State (up to 25%) and occasionally outside State


    Employment Type and Compensation

    Full-time, usually 5 days a week with weekend and nighttime work possible. Must be flexible and available to respond to emergency related weather events and client emergencies.
