    COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENTS — GENERAL CONTRACTING, MECHANICAL, AND ELECTRICAL

    Location: Columbia, SC | Full-Time | Local Projects — Little to No Travel

    ABOUT THESE OPPORTUNITIES

    Edisto Consulting Group is conducting confidential searches on behalf of multiple well-established commercial contractors in the Columbia, SC area. We are hiring experienced Commercial Construction Superintendents across three separate disciplines:

    • General Contracting Superintendent
    • Mechanical Superintendent (HVAC / Plumbing / Piping)
    • Electrical Superintendent

    These are three distinct roles for three different employers — we are not seeking one person to cover all trades. Each position leads the field on its respective scope of work. Tell us your discipline when you apply, and we will match you to the right opportunity.

    All of these roles are local. Projects are concentrated in the Columbia, SC metro area, so you can expect little to no overnight travel and the ability to be home with your family at the end of the day.

    GENERAL CONTRACTING SUPERINTENDENT — KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage all on-site construction activity for commercial projects (office, retail, healthcare, institutional, light industrial)
    • Build, maintain, and drive the project schedule; sequence trades to keep work flowing
    • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and vendors to meet quality, budget, and timeline goals
    • Conduct daily reports, look-aheads, and progress documentation
    • Enforce job-site safety programs and ensure OSHA compliance
    • Manage quality control, inspections, punch lists, and project closeout
    • Serve as the primary on-site contact for owners, architects, and inspectors

    MECHANICAL SUPERINTENDENT — KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supervise field installation of HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, and process piping systems
    • Lead and schedule mechanical crews, foremen, and subcontractors across active projects
    • Coordinate mechanical work with the general contractor and other trades
    • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, submittals, and equipment specifications
    • Oversee system startup, testing, balancing, and commissioning support
    • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with mechanical codes and OSHA standards
    • Manage punch lists, inspections, and mechanical closeout documentation

    ELECTRICAL SUPERINTENDENT — KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supervise field installation of power distribution, lighting, branch wiring, and low-voltage systems
    • Lead, schedule, and develop electricians, foremen, and apprentices on site
    • Coordinate electrical scope with the general contractor and other trades
    • Read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, panel schedules, and specifications
    • Oversee terminations, testing, energization, and system startup
    • Ensure compliance with the NEC, local codes, and OSHA safety standards
    • Manage inspections, punch lists, and electrical project closeout

    QUALIFICATIONS (ALL ROLES)

    • 5+ years of commercial construction superintendent or field supervisory experience in your discipline
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings
    • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, sequencing, and applicable codes
    • Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors and manage a project schedule
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • OSHA 30 certification preferred
    • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

    Discipline-specific preferred credentials:

    • Mechanical: mechanical journeyman background and commissioning experience
    • Electrical: Journeyman or Master electrician license and strong NEC knowledge
