    Job Summary

    Do you think outside the box? We are a new company seeking an experienced, expert consultant with extensive experience and knowledge in California (especially within San Bernadino County) Behavioral Health billing practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in billing audits, denial management, and payer regulations. We are seeking a consultant to work along side of our medical biller to increase collections, streamline workflows, improve reimbursements, reduce denials, and help build a scalable billing operation to grow our company with confidence. As a consultant, you will be researching California laws and San Bernadino common practices and then be able to consult, educate, and collaborate with our current staff. The ideal candidate has exceptional customer service skills, strong computer skills, and a knowledge of the complexities of California's, and the San Bernadino County behavioral health billing arena. Consultant Salary to be determined at interview based on experience.

    Responsibilities

    Perform a comprehensive audit of current billing procedures, including charge capture and payment posting.

    Provide actionable recommendations to reduce A/R days and increase cash flow.

    Ensure full compliance with HIPAA and federal/state regulations.

    Provide training and education to our internal biller on updated coding guidelines and best practices.

    Ability to consult, educate, and collaborate. (not only submit claims)

    Support compliance and optimization of our billing processes.

    Qualifications

    Minimum of 3+ years of experience, specialized knowledge of CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) /ICD-10/HCPCS codes, and proficiency in specific EMR/billing.

    In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance guidelines.

    Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and troubleshoot complex claims.

    Ability to work with providers, staff, and insurance representatives.

    Expertise in HIPAA and regulatory standards.

    Strong understanding of outpatient behavior health and skill building services.
