    Leading Global Legal Services Firm is searching for a savvy and energetic Finance & Accounting Analyst for its Global Billing Department.

    The best candidates will be flexible and highly committed to quality, customer service, teamwork, and supporting Firm and department goals in a fast-paced environment.

     

    Based in Los Angeles, Orange County, New York or Washington D.C., the Finance & Accounting Analyst will report to the Legal Project Management Manager. The regular responsibilities for the Finance & Accounting Analyst will include but not limited to: 

    • Alternative Fee Agreements:
    • Apply on-account funds received under AFAs towards WIP amounts as appropriate.
    • Conduct reconciliations of AFAs and prepare true-up reports as requested by clients or management.
    • Volume Discounts:
    • Prepare reports on net billed fees and unbilled fees for volume discount thresholds for various clients.
    • Coordinate with Pricing Department to complete reconciliations as requested by clients.
    • Budget Analysis:
    • Coordinate with Billing Team to apply on-account balances towards WIP and outstanding balances.
    • Participate in ad hoc projects as requested by Legal Finance Operations Manager.

    Qualifications

    • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel, have excellent attention to detail, and have the ability to work well under pressure.
    • Position requires outstanding written and verbal communication skills and excellent organizational skills.
    • Applicant should possess an analytical mindset and should have the ability to understand, execute, and communicate complex fee agreements.

    Experience

    • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
    • Minimum of two years prior experience in legal billing, pricing, or finance is required. 
    • Candidate must have strong technology skills, including MS Office Suite (with an emphasis on Excel), and an ability to leverage technology in work processes.
