    Global professional services firm seeks a Pricing Analyst to join their Los Angeles team.The Pricing Analyst is responsible for providing financial and analytical support to attorneys for pricing and scoping engagements. The Analyst assists firm management with financial modeling of rate alternatives, supports analysis related to rate approval and requests for proposals (RFPs), and tracks engagement budgets.He/she updates and maintains rate approval tracking database, creates reports on pricing trends, and responds to other ad-hoc requests from attorneys and management.

    Responsibilities

    1. Models matter profitability and provides scenario analysis to support pricing decisions for firm management.
    2. Research and identify existing/historical firm matters that may provide a baseline for billing attorneys in developing budgets for new matters.
    3. Maintains Rate Approvals Tracking database by inputting key approval information. Creates analysis and designs reports/presentations to display pricing trends.
    4. Designs templates to assist attorneys with establishing budgets.Monitors engagements on a regular basis and provides reports to management.
    5. Liaises with Finance & Accounting Department staff and other administrative departments to ensure that the correct data is being captured and that the appropriate tools are available to provide accurate and timely reporting.
    6. Analyzes client performance data to identify client opportunities.
    1. Prepares recurring and ad-hoc financial analysis and reports related to client statistics and firm financial metrics.
    2. Applies financial and analytical skills to create analysis and respond to various requests.
    3. Utilizes Data-Mining and Database mechanisms to obtain data and then organizes the information to facilitate effective analysis and creates analytical reports.
    4. Utilizes Database mechanisms, Microsoft Access & Visual Basic to develop and improve reporting processes.
    5. Maintains detailed records documenting procedures and assumptions, methodologies and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks.
    6. Works to ensure quality professional product, as well as delivery of all work within established timeframes.
    7. Makes recommendations and works with management to develop procedures, processes, and workflow to ensure maximum efficiency in the FIC department.
    8. Develops standard tools for reporting and analyzing data.
    9. Maintains professional image within the Finance and Accounting department and projects the same image to those outside of the department.
    10. Supports Rate Analysis & FIC team members in completing tasks as required.
    11. Promotes effective work practices, works as a team member, and shows respect for co-workers.
    12. Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field required.
      • Minimum of two (2) years related analytical experience in finance or accounting desired.
      • Experience responding to ad-hoc requests, developing analysis, and producing reports desired.
      • Knowledge and proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Access, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
      • Knowledge of Visual Basic a plus.
      • Knowledge of Business Objects and 3E a plus.
