Well established retail company seeks a Senior Accounting Manager to join their Los Angeles team. The individual will be responsible for the supervision of AP and AR teams and ensure accurate and timely recording of company revenues and liabilities. Under the direction of the VP of Finance, manages weekly recording of sales, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works safely at all times and follows all established safety guidelines and procedures.
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of AP and AR teams. Manage weekly check run and AR collections
• Manage timely and accurately closing of general ledger
• Manage, train and mentor accounting staff in performing day-to-day accounting functions
• Collaborate with the other teams within the organization to support overall department and companywide goals and objectives
• Ensure that Accounting department projects are assigned appropriate resources and completed timely
• Manage or assist in the installation and maintenance of new functions, ledgers or sub-ledgers in the accounting system
• Process annual 1099s
• Attend and guide weekly AR Ageing review meetings with purchasing team

• Perform other job duties as requested or required by Management.

   

  QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience in corporate setting
• Strong understanding of US GAAP
• High level of integrity

• Self-starter with strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Broad financial and business acumen
