Job Description:

Their rapid growth has created openings across departments, and they’re seeking a Sr. Cost Accountant to join their Accounting Team, this role would start out as Temporary with a great opportunity to “get your foot in the door”, paying $85k to $95K annually!

The Senior Cost Accountant is primarily responsible for supporting the Finance Controller in a variety of corporate Cost accounting functions, including cost allocation, design the steps in process costing calculations, design inventory valuation model, and other ad-hoc projects as necessary. This position reports to the Finance Controller directly.

Responsibilities

• Through thorough understanding of the business and its processes, assist in planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor
• Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve profitability of the company through development and generation of appropriate cost reporting
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports in controlling expenditures
• Assist in month end close of the general ledger and in external audit
• Reconcile finished goods inventories
• Ensure proper GAAP compliance & proper controls (SOX)
• Provide clear insight to manufacturing and related costs
• Other duties as assigned by Controller

  Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
• Must have strong cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills with a sound understanding of accounting principles.
• 3+ years of experience
• Extensive knowledge of D365, NetSuite, or any medium to large ERP System
• Advanced Excel skills – VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables
• Fundamental understanding of GAAP accounting standards
• Strong attention to detail
• Must possess the ability to work independently as well as within a team and thrive in a dynamic environment
