    Our client, a startup, law firm in Los Angeles is looking to hire a legal assistant to provide support to their legal and operations teams. The successful candidate will have administrative experience in a corporate environment, with some legal experience, and a positive and flexible attitude. RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Type, format, and edit litigation documents
    • Proofread copy for spelling, grammar, and content; makes appropriate changes
    • Organize and prioritize large volumes of information
    • Create, manage, and maintain electronic and hardcopy files
    • Gather and retrieve information from files when needed
    • Maintain attorney calendar; organize expense reports, plan and schedule meetings, teleconferences, and CLE classes; record and monitor deadlines
    • Arrange for conference rooms and assist with scheduling conferences
    • Provide administrative support (copy, scanning, faxing, etc.)
    • Answer telephone, meet and greet clients as needed, respond to and assist clients, provide information and assuring appropriate follow-through and/or resolution
    • Record attorney time, review, process, and finalize bills
    • Occasionally transcribes dictation
    • Handle all other administrative duties as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 1-2 years of corporate administrative experience in legal
    • College degree preferred
    • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills (including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently with strong follow-through skills
    • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
    • Flexibility to juggle moderate degree of multiple and changing priorities
    • Resourcefulness (especially online) in executing projects
    • Collaborative/teamwork attitude and skills a must
