  • Responsibilities

    Residential Advisor's (RA’s) are an essential and core position on our multidisciplinary team. All  staff work together to facilitate safety and comprehensive programming for youth in our crisis shelter and transitional living program. RA’s facilitate day to day operations and duties by adhering to our Mission Statement, Five Principals and the policies and procedures.. RA’s provide essential shelter supervision and support including: triage of door and phones, assessing safety, preventing and managing crises, upholding programmatic policy and procedure, documentation, light cleaning and building maintenance, as well as being a positive adult role model for youth. Must want to work in a diverse and inclusive environment.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Provide supervision of the shelter, including oversight and maintenance of the various areas of the facility.

    2.Safety awareness of situations and spaces.

    1. Perform day to day operations and duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.

    2. Provide welcoming, engaging and professional phone and door coverage to include answering and responding to incoming crisis, business information and resource and referral inquiries.

    3. Crisis prevention and intervention while adhering to agency protocol for responding, reporting and seeking support.

    4. Build rapport with clients and act as a positive role model and safe adult while maintaining and facilitating healthy boundary setting.

    5. Be a proactive and involved team member and encourage youth to participate in activities.

    EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working with at risk youth ages 18-24.

    SKILLS: Bi-lingual fluency in English and Spanish. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills. Must be computer literate (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)Must be a self-starter and team player with the ability to work with other staff members, clients, vendors and the public
