    A global media and technology company seeks a Senior Director, Business Strategy to join their dynamic team.

    The Sr Director leads the CBO Strategy team, partnering with the Chief Business Officer (CBO), the VP of Business Operations and Strategy and all L3s, to define and move forward the overall B2B strategy.

    You will be a highly experienced strategy professional, critical thinker rooted in analytics, and with a proven track record of bringing ideas to life. You must be comfortable influencing and interfacing with various stakeholders at all levels and across functions. You will report into the VP of Business Operations & Strategy. Some travel may be required to meet with key stakeholders, but will be limited as company will operate with a Flexible hybrid model, where some time is spent working from home, and some time from an office or workplace (clients).

    Responsibilities:

     Company Business Strategy:

    - Define the overall CBO/ business strategy in partnership with the CBO and each functional lead (L3s)

    - Develop the CBO M&A strategies and partner with corp dev on deal discussions

    - Drive the analysis, strategy recommendations and business cases in partnership with appropriate groups like FP&A and Business Analytics

    - Be the trusted Strategy partner to each functional lead for Sales, Product, Marketing, Analytics, Operations, as needed

    - Own all CBO strategy decks, communications, messages, executive briefings, etc.

     

    Strategic initiatives:

    -  Build and implement governance, clear R&Rs and decision making, and cross-CBO alignment on key strategic priorities/ initiatives

    -  Define, structure, drive and coordinate the Company Business strategy projects across the portfolio

    -  Work with the appropriate functional groups to provide support and ensure execution of the strategy (connect the dots)

    -  Drive interlocks with the other parts of Company - Company Consumer, and partners in Finance, Corporate Strategy, Pricing & Yield Management, HR, Legal, CTO, Corporate Communications, and other.

     

     People and Culture (collaboration):

    -  Coordinate with Company Business Leadership internal culture, communications and cadence work to align with Strategy (various teams)

     

    Company Business Strategy:

    - Drive the development and presentation of business strategy projects, including market and competitive insights, new growth opportunities, assessment of current strategies, identifying and evaluating strategic options

    - Guide the team to identify and deconstruct business issues, develop analytical frameworks and provide data-driven strategic recommendations. Provide such support and work with experts and leads at the functional groups as needed

    - Construct business cases/ justifications for strategic projects - structure the collection of input from key business leaders and partners, define the key assumptions/tradeoffs behind each initiative -- in partnership with the relevant groups like FP&A, business analytics, PYM and others

    - Develop the M&A strategy for CBO; partner closely as the central business partner, with corporate development to identify and assess opportunities and to ensure deals are aligned with CBO strategy

    - Partner with the appropriate groups (like customer support, product, sales, research and insights) to understand customer needs, preferences, competitive landscape, and any other insights that will help drive strategic decision making

    - Evangelize and operationalize “Customer centricity” across the Business Organization. Define drivers, behaviors, metrics / outcomes, and put front and center in all strategic projects

    - Maintain excellent knowledge of the media/ ad tech and related ecosystems and future trends

    - Drive a culture and elevate practices of analysis-driven, holistic Business Storytelling, that connects the dots across the portfolio;

    - Design, drive, coach the teams, and continuously improve the OKRs process for CBO

    -  Write and coach the team to write presentations with compelling and cohesive storylines that focus on the big picture but are grounded in data and business insights

    - this includes business priorities, key market and business developments, strategic projects, and portfolio status to Business & Corporate leaders

    -  Write and coach the team to write ad hoc executive presentations on various business topics

     

    Strategic Initiatives:

    - Partner with the Business leads to develop and coordinate strategic initiatives that translate strategy into execution. Articulate strategic value of initiatives and incorporate into portfolio prioritization framework.

    - Drive the cohesive execution via clear governance structures, R&Rs, coordination of decision making, accountability, planning, rollout/ comms, etc.

    -  Work with the Business Insights and Analytics team to define and measure progress towards business goals and identify success of the portfolio strategy - track what is working vs. not working, and drive recalibration of strategy

     

    People initiatives, Collaboration and Internal Partnerships:

    - People and culture - act as the POC for CBO strategy to align with our various People-related initiatives (collaboration with multiple teams)

    - Work ceaselessly in collaboration with all Business teams and cross-VMG functions and business partners

    - Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners inside and outside of the company

    - Demonstrate strong leadership and e?ective in?uence skills with an ability to gain credibility across multiple functions, and at an executive level

    -  Foster a collaborative and positive culture of customer-centricity, accountability, integrity, teamwork and open communication across the organization

    - Drive the internal leadership cadence, team cohesion and engagement for the CBO team of directs (L3s)

    -  Manage a focused CBO Strategy team - guide their scope, R&Rs, individual development goals and career guidance, mid-year and annual performance, recognition, stretch projects, etc.

     

    Qualifications

    - 15+ years of experience working in high level management consulting or internal strategy/ BD/ consulting role

    - MBA or similar degree required

    - Knowledge/ prior experience in the media/ advertising/ ad tech space

    - Deep experience developing market and competitor analyses, customer needs analyses, growth strategies, strategy execution plans and initiatives

    -  Strong experience writing executive presentations, and related employee strategy rollout comms

    - Highly analytical; experience building business cases with lacking market data, and to identify, articulate, and evaluate strategic tradeo?s

    - Demonstrated success partnering across the organization, across a variety of functions, including Finance, HR, Engineers, Data scientists, Marketing, Sales, biz ops, etc.

    - Effective and con?dent in the engagement with senior leadership from a variety of functions up to Executive level.

    - Ability to juggle multiple priorities at once and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

    -  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong facilitation skills

     

    Compensation: $230,000 - $275,000 + bonus (30%) + equity
