    Collections Specialist 

    Analyzes claims to determine liability for damages reported at the time of delivery and processes payments.

     Essential Job Duties

    Collect and analyze required documentation needed for claim resolution.

    • Communicate with customers to gather necessary information.
    • Assist with inter-departmental claim resolution and collections.
    • Collect payment for damages caused by the carrier.
    • Issue billing statements.
    • Research and locate all carriers/customers with a balance due for damages.
    • Personal responsibility to manage change.

     

    Required Qualifications – Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)

     

    • This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Must have one to two years of experience in claims resolution or billing background.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities – May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills and abilities commonly associated with this position.

     

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and other general office equipment.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Creative, can think outside of the box to resolve problems.
    • Excellent customer service skills.

     

    Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

     

    • General office conditions. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
