    Job Description

    Our client is seeking a VP of Business Development that thrives in a dynamic start-up environment. This is a full-time position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. This will be a remote-based position with extensive travel requirements to potential customers and our Headquarters in Orange County, CA.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Create strategic partnership strategy and implement business development initiatives
    • Design and implement a go-to-market strategy for a first-to-market product
    • Conduct market research for developing a product roadmap by identifying customer pain points and collaborating with internal Clinical and R&D teams
    • Generate leads by identifying market opportunities and initiating and developing relationships with key stakeholders of prospective partners and prospective clients
    • Implement data management tools and own full scope of process to track progresses and success of business development and sales activities
    • Use product expertise and effective communication across every level to advance partner interest
    • Follow and report on trends and risks in the professional and collegiate sports leagues and other markets identified by research

     

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Track record of successful product launches for diagnostics, medical devices, or biotech
    • Proven experience working in business development or a similar role in a fast-paced start up for 5+ years
    • Experience leading and executing full sales cycle
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills
    • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
    • Proficient in MS office, Google Workspace, and CRM systems. Competent to learn new technology systems quickly
    • High level contacts within NFL, NCAA Division 1 Commissioners and Athletic Directors preferred
    • Previous product management experience preferred
    • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, physical sciences, or biological or MBA degree preferred
