Our client is a real estate investment management company located in the San Fernando Valley that's seeking a Staff or Senior Accountant to join their team.
The Staff/Senior Accountant will perform mid to senior level oversight of the day-to-day Accounting operations.
- Take part in building and enhancing a strong accounting team which provides proactive support and execution of responsibilities supporting the current and future needs of the company
- Mentor and manage the junior accounting team which will include mid-level supervision, employee engagement, professional development and coaching
- Meet financial targets and follow established policies, practices and procedures to measure performances of all types against strategies and operating objectives
- Assist in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness and productivity of accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Supervise the junior accounting team and provide guidance in the successful and swift completion of the month-end close procedures including preparation of financials, reconciliation of mortgage and bank accounts and reclasses to the general ledgers
- Input and review journal entries and address any issues
- Assist in preparing P&L Comparison reports and corporate budgets
- Assist in accruals, prepays, revenue recognition and aging reconciliations
- Communicate with the external CPA firm in preparation and filing of multi-entities tax returns
- Assist in required lender reporting
- Coordinate with Controller and Investor Relations on investor reporting and disbursement of monthly and quarterly investor distributions and management of investor capital balances
- Assist in calculating and billing associated management fees and reimbursements to management company
- Interface with operations and logistics to resolve concerns
- Provide data integrity for inter-company activities
- Provide accounting software training and troubleshoot system issues
