    A global law firm consistently ranked among the top firms in the world, is currently seeking a Financial Specialist – Expenses to join our winning team.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    As a Financial Specialist – Expenses at firm, you will be responsible for providing financial and analytical support to the firm by monitoring firm expenditures, ensuring that expenses are reasonable, appropriate, and in compliance with firm policies. You will monitor and respond to requests sent to the firm’s internal Expense Analysis Team and respond to other ad-hoc requests from firm management. You will summarize large volumes of data in executive summary schedules or financial reports, and communicate critical issues to managers across the firm, while accomplishing these and other critical functions:

     

    • Retrieving and reporting routine financial balance information pertaining to firm expenses
    • Handling basic and routine requests including firm expense history, ad-hoc expense information requests, and compliance related reporting
    • Performing data integrity and reporting accuracy checks as requested
    • Evaluating substantive support for expense reports submitted (including random compliance audits and high-risk transactions identified by the system)
    • Supporting senior analysts in completing analytical and reporting tasks as requested
    • Applying financial and analytical skills to create analysis and responding to various requests
    • Assisting the team with report and workflow documentation
    • Maintaining detailed records, documenting procedures and assumptions, methodologies and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks
    • Completing special projects on various issues as directed by management
    • Working to ensure quality professional product, as well as delivery of all work within established timeframes
    • Assisting in the preparation of various budgets to actual reports
    • Assisting the team with administrative tasks pertaining to process efficiency, documentation, data entry, cross-training, and project tracking
    • Maintaining professional image within the Finance and Accounting department, and projects the same image to those outside of the department
    • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers

      Qualifications:

    • As a Financial Specialist – Expenses, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude.
    • The successful Specialist must have the ability to work independently to research, analyze, and develop financial information, along with the ability to maintain flexibility with respect to assigned tasks due to changing deadlines, changing deliverables, and changing task priorities.
    • The ideal candidate displays general knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles and terminology, as well as possessing excellent analytical skills.
    • The Specialist must display the ability to learn and apply new skills quickly and effectively, with the ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus.
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is required.
    • A minimum of one (1) year of related analytical experience in finance or accounting is desired.
    • Experience responding to ad-hoc requests, developing analysis, and producing reports is desired.
    • Previous experience in a customer-focus position is desired.
    • Prior experience with Excel is desired.
