    Job Description

    Global real estate firm seeks a Tax Manager to join their dynamic team. This position is within the Finance team and will report directly to the Head of Tax, with significant interaction throughout the company. The candidate will be a key contributor to many departmental goals and objectives and is responsible for multiple projects including:

    • Reviewing foreign income tax provision in relation to the annual financial statement audit, as well as reviewing the foreign tax returns and statutory to GAAP adjustments.
    • Managing and reviewing US international tax returns (including Form 5471, Form 8858, Form 8865, Form 1118) prepared by Big 4 tax advisor to ensure that each form/return/statement is completely and accurately filed and in compliance with all associated laws and regulations.
    • Preparing E&P adjustments for significant controlled foreign corporations and foreign partnerships
    • Assisting the Head of Tax in planning and analyzing corporate restructuring and planning projects.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Review quarterly foreign income tax provision calculation for multiple entities and jurisdictions (including certain workpapers prep, rate reconciliations, DTA's/DTL's) in accordance with ASC 740 and FIN 48.
    • Local GAAP and/or IFRS to U.S. GAAP reconciliation.
    • Provide support, manage and review U.S. international tax returns prepared by Big 4 service provider
    • Assistance with tax research and planning to minimize tax burden, while considering various business scenarios, working on projects to maintain and reduce the Company's effective tax rate and cash taxes.
    • Work with external service providers to implement and support a variety of special projects and strategies.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have at least 5 years of experience, preferably with Big 4, in preparing and/or reviewing foreign income tax provisions.
    • US federal tax experience and/or real estate partnership tax experience is a plus
    • Must have strong leadership, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must have excellent Excel spreadsheets skills.
