    A leading global law firm is searching for an experienced and savvy International Tax Manager to join its global accounting team.

    Based out of either the LA, NYC, SF, Palo Alto, Orange County, Dallas, Houston, Washington DC, or Denver office, the International Tax Manager is responsible for maintaining firm-wide tax compliance in the jurisdictions in which we operate, with a focus on the offices in Europe and the Middle East, and the US tax impact of international developments.

    This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and liaises with internal departments, and external contacts (global tax advisors, partners’ accountants, and various tax authorities).

    Responsibilities include:

    • Overseeing coordination, preparation, and issuance of the Firm’s Global tax returns as well as assisting with international US tax compliance and consulting projects.
    • Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, and working with key personnel on various special projects.
    • Providing tax support to the Firm’s Global partners and their advisors, addressing their requests in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Proactively leading tax research projects and maintaining current knowledge of tax regulations affecting the partnership in the relevant jurisdictions.
    • Coordinating and managing Global tax inquiries, audits and communication with tax authorities.
    • Monitoring proposed changes in tax laws, evaluating their impact on the partnership, and subsequently making recommendations.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must have experience as an effective team member as well as building and leading teams.
    • Knowledge of international VAT/GST, business, property, sales/use, and excise taxation in addition to income tax is desired.
    • Possess strong analytical skills and a methodical, detail-oriented approach in completing assignments.
    • Must have ‘can do’ attitude and willing to do what it takes to meet tight deadlines.
    • Must be able to perform research on tax laws and regulations for various jurisdictions and different types of tax.
    • Knowledge of US expatriate and foreign national taxation, tax equalizations, and global tax reporting requirements on individual level is desired.

    EXPERIENCE

    • 7+ years of solid international tax experience with strong experience in partnership and individual taxation with a Big 4 Accounting Firm and/or a Multinational Firm.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
    • Certified Public Accountant or ACA/ACCA/CTA qualification desirable.
    • Solid experience with global partnership taxation and reporting requirements, including preparation, and review of partners’ US Schedule K-1.
