A publicly traded REIT seeks a Vice President of Treasury to join their dynamic team. This is a newly created key leadership position. The individual will interact with all levels of accounting, investment, tax and legal professionals.

The VP of Treasury reports to the Managing Director of Treasury.

Responsibilities

Cash and Liquidity Management

• Manage excess cash investments across all entities and operating companies.
• Work closely with acquisition and investment management teams globally to proactively manage cash and line of credit balances
• Manage acquisition funding process

Credit Facilities

• Manage and direct borrowings, paydowns, interest rate settings and payments, loan compliance, and borrowing availability for several subscription lines of credit
• Manage refinancing, credit facility extensions or amendments.

Insurance

• Oversee activities and negotiations related to the Company’s insurance program. Advise Operating companies on insurance and help reduce pricing for Corporate and all operating companies. Banking/Bank Accounts

• Act as the primary payment releaser, current volume is over $100B per year.
• Act as the primary signer across all bank accounts worldwide
• Maintain company’s Treasury platform, Kyriba
• Troubleshoot payments within Yardi (ERP system)

Foreign Currency/Hedging

• Reviews foreign currency exposures and recommends hedging opportunities
• Execution of spot trades and coordination with Chatham Financial on FX hedges

Other

• Expand department policies and procedures
• Determine that appropriate controls are in place to safeguard the assets of the corporation
• Lead on audit requests
• Ability to streamline processes by eliminating manual data entry and move towards automation.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Treasury staff
• Provide clear guidance
• Serve as a mentor to help develop their career

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• 7-10 years of treasury experience structuring sophisticated treasury solutions, preferably in financial services or investment management
• Exposure to implementation and operation of treasury management system
• Yardi and Kyriba experience preferred
• Banking and payments experience
• Experience of working with senior stakeholders and stakeholder management
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management and program management skills
• Ability to interact and influence at all levels and across functions within an organization
• Ability to develop excellent relationships at all levels within an organization
• Balance strategic focus with tactical implementation/execution
• Effectively manage multiple projects at the same time
• Strong sense of detail and urgency, with the ability to motivate others to deliver
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
