    About the Role

    The Senior Research Librarian is an integral part of my client's Research & Library team. This role will be responsible for providing a wide range of legal and non-legal research and analysis to attorneys and staff, while conducting complex domestic and international legal and non-legal research utilizing sophisticated electronic and print research tools, as well as synthesizing and analyzing results for relevancy and responsiveness to the specific research request. This role will be located in either our Boston or Washington D.C. office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

     

    Responsibilities & Qualifications

    Other key responsibilities include:

    • Compiling and organizing research results into a coherent, focused collection, accompanied by explanatory notes if relevant, to ensure material is readily understandable and actionable for the user; presenting results in the most appropriate form for the recipient
    • Coordinating large research projects by deploying the research team, working with requestor to deliver information according to their preference
    • Monitoring business, industry, and legal news sources for emerging developments regarding clients, industries, and practice areas; utilizing aggregator platforms to assemble relevant results for distribution to attorneys and staff
    • Sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues and assisting with research staff professional development
    • Leading researcher calls, working groups and specialty research teams; managing agendas, soliciting topics, sharing best practices, and facilitating the development of innovative solutions for department processes


    We’d love to hear from you if you:

    • Possess superior knowledge of research sources in transactional and litigation areas
    • Demonstrate the ability to work under time sensitive deadlines with multiple assignments and convey results to various users
    • Display the ability to creatively select, analyze, and utilize various methods of research to successfully complete complex assignments

     

    And have:

    • A bachelor’s degree, preferably a master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) or a relevant master’s or Postgraduate Diploma
    • A minimum of four (4) years of research experience in a law firm or other professional service entity
